I really want to get my hands on the new perfume Glow by J.Lo, but have had no luck in my searches so far. Can I find it in Hong Kong?

The Dictator rules: Not in the usual places, you can't - at least you couldn't. Fans of J.Lo's music were probably the first to have access to Glow, at HMV of all places (G/F, 70 Hankow Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, tel: 2302-0122). This emphasis on fans perhaps explains why the official website (www.shopjlo.com) urges buyers to stroke the box: 'Feel the 'soft touch' finish ... sensual like her skin.' And don't be fooled by the tricky bottle: the decorative necklace with a diamante 'J.Lo' is fixed on. I hope you're not just buying it because it has Jennifer Lopez's name attached, or worse, because you heard David Letterman say she smelled nice. The fragrance is apparently fresh, sexy and clean. Fresh comes in the citrus form of orange flower and grapefruit. The essence of sexy, according to Lopez, is bottled up in rose, sandalwood and amber. Finally, those 'clean' notes come from jasmine, vanilla, musk and orris (a root). It's sold in three sizes: 30ml ($220), 50ml ($285) and 100ml ($395). The expanded line, including a shower gel (200ml, $145) and body lotion (200ml, $160), went on sale at Seibu Pacific Place (88 Queensway, Admiralty, tel: 2971-3800) on St Valentine's Day and will soon roll out to Seibu Windsor House, Wing

On and Sogo.

Swing out sister

I like to dress in a retro swing style, and have been looking for tops with short, puffed sleeves. They were easy to find in vintage stores in the United States, but I don't know where to look here.

Please help.

Puff 'N' Stuff, Kowloon Tong

The Dictator: Don't bother. You're in Hong Kong now. We eschew those mouldy cast-offs in favour of fresh, new and stylish versions. That innocent yet sexy 1940s and 50s look is widely available at almost any mall. At Miu Miu (Shop B24, The Landmark, Central, tel: 2523-7833), puff-sleeved shirts come in many forms: black or beige cotton with an open decollete ($1,450), buttoned up in white cotton ($1,700), or burgundy or pale peach chiffon ($1,650). The floaty, chiffon look is also popular at iBlues (Shop LG 213, Festival Walk, Kowloon Tong, tel: 2265-7668), which has a pretty pink number in silk ($1,380) - it looks prim, but with a promise. Max & Co (88 Nathan Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, tel: 2368-5859) has one in dusty pink ($1,480) and another in a grey and pink floral pattern with a frill around the collar ($1,280). Marc Jacobs (Shop 206, Pacific Place, tel: 2918-0208) has a version in sludgy colours, with striped trim, a fitted waist and a Peter Pan collar ($1,495). For weekends, Agnes b (Shop G03, The Galleria, 9 Queen's Road Central, tel: 2522-8275) has T-shirt interpretations in beige, grey, peach and dark salmon ($550). Just leave the bobby socks in the past.

Getting rid of old tat

I would like to get a small, coloured tattoo removed from my shoulder and am looking for a reputable laser surgeon to do this.

The Dictator: Do you see 'Dr' any-where near my name? I didn't think so. The quick answer is: see your dermat-ologist to discuss your options. If you don't have a dermatologist, get one. Preliminary research has uncovered some stomach-turning procedures: excision (cutting the tattoo off), dermabrasion (burning it off chemically, then sanding the area) and salabrasion (soaking it in salt water then sanding). Scared yet? Good. Or you could ask a reliable tattoo artist for a recommendation. We went to Joanne McMullan of Bluetongue Tattoo Gallery (G/F, 1 Shin Hing Street, Central, tel: 2545-3233) for some informed advice. She recom-mended a visit to laser-wielding dermatologist Dr Lim Meng-tang at Neo Derm in Central (tel: 2581-9990; or 9098-3609). The pigments in the tattoo are apparently broken down by the lasers,

then discharged by the body's scavenger cells, whatever they are. Done correctly, each blast shouldn't feel any worse than being flicked by a rubber band ... over and over again. That tattoo was a great idea, wasn't it?
