The vice-mayor of Chengdu has been dismissed for accepting bribes and gambling in Macau and Las Vegas at the expense of some private firms. The China News Service reported that over a three-year period Wang Zhongkang accepted bribes of 125,000 yuan and clocked up 47,000 yuan in gambling debts that were paid by private enterprises.
