A roadside lingerie advertisement has been altered to remove an image which resembled a road sign and warned of 'dangerous curves', for fear it could have caused drivers to swerve out of control.

The ad, for Triumph's Maximiser bras, is at the Hunghom exit of the Western Harbour Crossing.

Sunny Wong Seung, manager of the tunnel, explained that the 31m by 2.8m banner had to be changed in case it confused drivers. 'The original ad had something that resembled a road sign at the end of the banner. We were worried that drivers would mistake the sign to mean roadworks ahead,' said Mr Wong.

'So we removed the sign and told them to enlarge the type for the line - Maximiser - instead. The ad is still very healthy looking and beautiful.'

The banner, on the retaining wall near the Kowloon exit for the next two weeks, shows four images of a model dressed in different push-up bras.

The catch phrase 'dangerous curves' has been left in the middle of the poster.
