As even the tiniest compact digital cameras begin entering the megapixel range, Fujifilm has gone several steps further than its competitors and announced what is probably the highest resolution little camera yet.
The FinePix F410 Zoom is to be the first of Fujifilm's so-called Fourth Generation of Super CCD HR cameras. The super CCD HR refers to the company's new high-resolution charged couple device, which uses a 3.1-megapixel sensor to create a six-megapixel picture. So although it does not take 6.0 megapixel pictures, its output should be far from the expected 3.1 megapixels.
More importantly, the camera has a 3x optical zoom of 38-114mm, with 3.6x digital zoom.
The camera can also record up to a minute a half of video with sound at 320x240 pixels, or up to five and a half minutes at 160x120.
The camera stores pictures on an xD Picture Card. The camera will come with a 16MB xD card, USB cradle, lithium-ion battery, AC power adaptor and case.
Prices are not yet confirmed, but the camera is expected to arrive in Hong Kong before May.
