1-MIN READ1-MIN
Five men and a woman were being questioned by police last night in connection with the abduction of a businessman who had explosives strapped to his waist before being forced by his captors to go into a bank to try to withdraw $5 million. The 49-year-old restaurant owner had been forced into a bank in Lai Chi Kok on Thursday, but suspicious staff had alerted police. Bomb squad officers then dealt with the explosives strapped to the man. Officers said two pistols, 10 rounds of ammunition, a silencer and a pair of handcuffs had been seized. The six suspects, aged between 24 and 38, were arrested at a hotel in Pitt Street, Yau Ma Tei, on Thursday.
