Yet another school's football final was decided in dramatic fashion when West Island School's grade B side beat St Bonaventure College to win the Hong Kong and Kowloon Division Two title on Monday.

Sunday's Jing Ying final and Monday's grade C Division One final were both won by last-minute goals.

After 70 minutes of action at Boundary Street on the artificial grass, the score remained at 0-0 and the game went to a penalty shoot-out. After both teams missed two out of five, it went to sudden-death (one penalty each). Both sides scored their next spot-kicks, but St Bonaventure's nerves wobbled and they missed their seventh, leaving West Island's Nathan Chan to clinch it. West Island coach, Richard Lant, said: 'We were the dominant team, and if it wasn't for their goalkeeper, who had a great game, we would have won without penalties.' Lant nominated midfielder Edward Haynes as the most valuable player (MVP).

The other football team to be promoted from Division Two will be decided after the grade C final at the end of this month. In tomorrow's semi-finals at Happy Valley, Chan Sui Ki College play Munsang College at 3pm, and Hong Kong Tang King Po College take on Yu Chun Keung Memorial College No 2 at 4pm.
