Mega-star writer Shobhaa De dismissed the virus fear gripping many travellers when she arrived in the city on Wednesday night for the Hong Kong International Literary Festival. 'Antiseptic cities bore the hell out of me,' India's hottest writer told SAR. 'A safe city is a very dull city. What's the point?' The glamorous De, often referred to as Asia's Jackie Collins for her string of sexually charged best-sellers, will hold a talk at Veda Restaurant in Central at 4pm tomorrow. 'I love Hong Kong precisely because it is an evil city,' she expanded, without fear or face mask. 'My earliest and best memory of Hong Kong was wandering into a shoot-out between cops and a gang of diamond thieves. 'Now - for an author - that's a really good holiday.'
