Mathew Nigara International make-up artist for NARS It's time to put away your winter clothes and update your spring/summer wardrobe - and make-up collection. A lot of new labels which cater to the young and hip generation, such as NARS, Laura Mercier, Chantecaille and Anna Sui, have hit the Hong Kong market in recent years. We talked to a make-up artist from one of these brands for some tips on how to look pretty this season. 'This summer's make-up focuses on the eyes and playing with colours ... but a little bit muted. The summer colour will be green - more muted green and turquoise. They're not going to be such vivid colours, but there's gonna be the same texture with a glowing surface and mysterious look. The tip is to use loose brushes to make the colours play more evenly and look more natural. You can use a cream eyeshadow and put it on with a loose brush, or even with your finger to keep it more soft and natural. And blend up towards the eye bone. Keep the skin as natural as possible, using the least amount of powder that you can. Don't confuse a natural look and a look with colour. Colour can look natural. The trick is to use colour naturally. Instead of using beige and taupe, we're now using green, blue, purple and pink.'
