Four prize-winners' concerts for this year's Hong Kong Schools Music Festival have been cancelled because of the recent atypical pneumonia outbreak. The concerts were scheduled for this weekend. Event organiser, the Hong Kong Schools Music And Speech Association (HKSMSA), said the decision was made 'with consideration of requests raised by a number of the performing students, teachers and related parents'. It is understood that the winning students felt 'pressured' to be playing at a crowded venue. Other major local weekend events cancelled at the last minute included The Rolling Stones' 'Licks Concert 2003' and the mini and junior events of the Hong Kong Sevens. Those who still hold tickets for the four concerts can apply for a refund from the HKSMASA office beginning April 7. Refund claim forms can be obtained in the following ways: * by fax through a phone request at 2761 3877; * in person at the HKSMSA office; * downloaded from the HKSMASA Web site at www.hksmsa.org.hk ; * at URBTIX outlets. Instant refunds will be available for visitors at the HKSMSA office during office hours - Mondays to Fridays 8.30am to 12.45pm and 1.45pm to 5pm; Saturdays 9am to 12.30pm - between April 7 and 21.
