Pro-China tag misleads public

I RECENTLY cast my vote in the Sai Kung Constituency and later listened for the result on radio news. Commentators constantly referred to one candidate as pro-China, as if to say that those who voted against him were anti-China.

Of course this is not true. Most candidates are ''Pro-China''; it's their country, after all. Perhaps, in future, the term pro-China could be dropped and commentators could describe the candidate's platform.

It would be a lot more informative to the public and a lot fairer to the candidate.
