Chase leaves a trail of damaged vehicles
A STOLEN goods van rammed into nine vehicles, including a police car, in a dramatic chase in Tuen Mun yesterday.
Four policemen were injured when they grabbed two young men through the broken windows of the van after it crashed into a parked lorry.
The officers were taken to Tuen Mun Hospital, where they were treated and discharged.
The drama began when police received a report at about 4.30 am that two men were trying to steal motorcycles from a car park at Tai Hing Estate.
Police cars raced to the scene from three directions. When the suspects realised the main exit was blocked, they turned into a one-way road but hit a taxi.
They then made a U-turn and hit a police car. The vehicle then hit two goods vans, three taxis and a private car before crashing into the parked lorry.
The suspects, aged 19 and 20, were handed over to the Organised Crime and Triad Bureau.
