GUNMAN FIRES FOUR SHOTS AT CENTRAL ANTIQUES SHOP

Police were last night hunting a man who fired four shots which shattered the glass door of an antiques shop in Central yesterday. The proprietor of the Hui Ku Hien Antique Shop in Hollywood Road, surnamed Poon, 50, suffered a slight injury to her hand caused by flying glass. Detective Senior Superintendent Man Chi-hung said initial investigations indicated that the shooting could be a case of criminal intimidation. No one had been arrested and the hunt for the gunman was continuing, he said. An employee of a nearby shop said he saw a man aged between 20 and 25 hurrying from the scene seconds after the shots were fired.

A Jockey Club manager, who was also a former anti-graft officer, jumped to his death from a high-rise building in Happy Valley after apparently suffering from stress at work. Ng Kam-loy, 52, a security manager at the club, was found on the podium of Valley View in Blue Pool Road at about 6.30am.

ex-priest's bail extended over alleged abuse of boy

An ex-Catholic priest arrested for allegedly sexually abusing a boy in his care had his bail extended for four weeks. The alleged offence dates back 20 years. The man, 52, from the Salesian Order,was held in February, a day after ex-priest Michael Lau Ka-yee was jailed for 4? years for molesting an altar boy.
