No-frills DVD players boast prices to match

Korea's LG Electronics has rolled out three DVD players in a series, modestly priced from HK$870 to HK$990.

The main attraction of LG's products are their prices, which are among the lowest among branded DVD players.

The high-end model, the DK7943P (top), is slimmer and sleeker than the other two. It also has more features, including built-in Dolby digital recording and a Digital Theatre System decoder, giving it better sound than the cheaper models.

The difference between the DK7821P (middle) and DK7721P (bottom) is their design and price, rather than the features they offer.

The slimmer, better-looking DK7821P is priced at HK$890 and has the same features as the bulkier DK7721P, priced at HK$870.

All three play multiple formats including DVD+RW, DVD-RW, video DVD, DVD-R, audio CD, video CDs and Kodak Picture CDs with support for MP3 decoding.
