Strong sales in US help lift Mainland Headwear

Casual headwear designer and maker Mainland Headwear Holdings has posted net profit of HK$64.03 million for the year to December, up 2.4 per cent.
Turnover reached HK$394.12 million, up 36 per cent from a year ago.
A final dividend of six HK cents was announced, against five HK cents a year ago. With the interim dividend of two HK cents, total dividend for the year is eight HK cents per share.

Chairman Ngan Hei-keung said the headwear industry remained strong in the United States despite generally weak consumer spending last year.
'Riding on strong headwear culture and robust sporting events, [there has been] sustained strong demand for our products,' he said.

Customers include Warner Brothers, Reebok, Timberland, Fila and Ellesse.
