On-the-skids socialite, Teresa Cheung Siu-wai, has been stepping out with local businessman Wilhelm Brauner, five years her junior - and much, much richer.
The former wife of Kenny Bee (now bankrupt) and former girlfriend of Edmund Chan (now bankrupt) who lost a shed-load of money on bad property deals, told us: 'Now everyone is asking me if he is going to help me out with my $250 million debt. But really, I never mix business and love . . . and the only thing I want from him is his wonderful positive energy.'
Ms Cheung - whose struggle to keep her ultra-chic boutique Teresa running despite her money troubles has made her something of an It-girl symbol in recession-ravaged Hong Kong - said she believes her relationship with Brauner will feature in some of the tabloid news magazines tomorrow.
'I had hoped to keep it a secret longer,' Ms Cheung, 39, told us. 'I didn't want to drag him into this fishbowl that I live in.'
She also added that Austria-born Brauner, 34, a gun dealer who supplies Glock pistols to Hong Kong's police force, had a 'sunshine character' and a 'big open heart'. She was particularly impressed by his response to Chinese friends who 'warned' him that she had money problems. 'He just told them, 'She's fine, I'm fine, we're fine'.'
