The Hong Kong Tourism Board tried to pull its new advertising slogan created before the outbreak of Sars (severe acute respiratory syndrome), 'Life Is Full Of Contrasts: Hong Kong Will Take Your Breath Away', but was too late to stop it appearing in the British press. 'Pretty embarrassing,' the tourism board's Simon Clennell reportedly admitted. It did manage to replace the slogan in the end, to 'Life Is Full Of Contrasts: There's No Place Like Hong Kong'. You can say that again. Exactly which slogan is the least embarrassing, we're not quite sure.

After bragging about how his value had soared by 40 per cent after making his comeback following his conviction of perverting the course of justice, Nicholas Tse Ting-fung (above) found his popularity had tumbled by more or less the same rate - at least on the mainland, according to Oriental Daily News.
