CHINESE Communist Party boss Jiang Zemin yesterday formally launched the party's long awaited large-scale anti-corruption drive. Mr Jiang urged officials to view the drive as a ''major political task'' and demanded to see tangible results in the near future. Political analysts said the tone of Mr Jiang's speech suggested the party would be looking to find a few senior level scapegoats to hold up as evidence of its determination to root out corruption. ''I think we will see either a vice-minister or deputy provincial governor hung out to dry soon,'' a Western diplomat said.
