WARRIOR OF ARGUS

Gameplay: The gameplay's mostly good, and is based on a lethal weapon called Diskarmor - a shield-and-chain that is used to destroy enemies. There are three special and very different Diskarmors and each has numerous different attack combinations.

The game provides a lot of objects to smash up - it's very satisfying to see pillars crumble and walls collapsing as you fight an epic battle.

But there isn't a great variation of enemies, and they can't do much damage to you - they basically just get in your way and take up time. But they are fun to try out some cool moves on.

Graphics: The graphics are impressive, with detailed and textured characters. The levels, with large statues, tall pillars and ornate buildings, all look genuinely Roman. They really pull you in and put you in the game.

Overall: It takes a while to master control of main character Rygar, but it's not impossible. With good graphics, great sound and a decent plot, Warrior in Argus is value entertainment. It's a game that everyone should at least give a chance.

WARRIOR OF ARGUS

Gameplay: This game is a lot like Devil May Cry. If you liked that game, you'll probably like this.

You become the noble warrior Rygar, who tries to save Princess Harmonia and bring peace to Argus. Every place you go there are multiple breakable objects and the Diskarmour weapon must be the coolest weapon ever in an action game. It has loads of combinations and destroys just about everything in the environment.

Graphics: The graphics are cool. There is very little difference between the video sequences and the actual gameplay visuals - they are that good. The environments are brilliantly detailed, down to grains of sand falling through sunbeams.

There are excellent sound effects like the clang of metal against stone, the grunts of the hero, and the whirr of the Diskarmor as it slices through the air.

Overall: It's a good game - it gets you hooked right from the opening animation sequence. It's easy to play and there are loads of stunning visuals to keep you interested. It's a game worth spending money on.
