The Hong Kong Trade Development Council has been working closely with the Department of Health to ensure adequate health precautions are taken at this week's trade fair at the convention and exhibition centre.
The council's deputy executive director, Frederick Lam, says the measures in place go beyond the guidelines provided by the World Health Organisation on the prevention of severe acute respiratory syndrome (Sars).
Cleaning measures have been stepped up, and wipes and hand cleaners will be given to exhib itors.
Free masks will be distributed, while disposable thermometers will be available at a health post manned by qualified medical staff.
Reminders have been sent to exhibitors not to attend if they show signs of Sars.
The latest government advice on the disease and its prevention will be distributed at the fair.
