Lip service: New from Clinique, one of the most prolific producers of cosmetics, are Colour Surge Lipsticks ($120, above). These non-drying, non-staining lippies give intense colour with a single stroke and, thanks to conditioning ingredients, help reduce the appearance of lip lines. Available in 16 shades, ranging from velvety reds and violets to warm corals, browns and nudes, they will be up for grabs next Monday from Clinique counters in department stores.

Soy talk: Beauty products based on food have almost been de rigueur in recent years. We've dutifully applied creams containing tomatoes, green tea, grapes, avocado and olive oil - now, get ready to slap on some soyabean, known for its high protein content, antioxidant components and natural whitening ability. Neutrogena is first off the mark to introduce to the Hong Kong market two products containing natural essential soy. Its new Fine Fairness Cleanser ($99.90/100g) and Toner ($99.90/200ml) help to even out the skin's tone, combat environmental damage and keep skin looking bright. From Mannings, Watson's and SaSa.

Youth of today: Choosing a moisturiser isn't just about finding a product to suit normal, dry, greasy or combination skin but also something that is right for your age. For women between 30 and 40, what cream to use isn't always clear cut. Their skin is not yet so wrinkled that they need overly rich formulae, but with 'laughter lines' on the increase they need more than basic lightweight treatment to keep the signs of ageing at bay. Lancaster's new Youth Prolongator collection claims to do just that. Comprising a cream, fluid, balm (all $415, below) and gel ($360), this range for those old enough to know better but too young not to care contains phosphogen, which promotes skin recuperation, and helps refresh, re-energise and moisturise the skin. Available from Lancaster counters.
