I APPLAUD the decision of the Hong Kong International Cricket Sixes organising committee to ban full tosses during the coming competition at the Kowloon Cricket Club (KCC).
This ploy, unfairly used as usual, by the Pakistani fast bowler Waqar Younis ruined, we are told by the organisers, last year's competition, for the aficionados of the game.
Less knowledgeable cricketing enthusiasts were blissfully ignorant of what was being perpetrated out on the pitch and stupidly thought that the competition had been marvellous and that the best team won.
May I make two further suggestions to the organisers.
In the interests of sporting competition, make the Pakistani bowlers use a tennis ball and bowl underarm as this is the only chance, albeit slight, that the England team will have of scoring.
