Q Has the government taken the right decision about the reopening of schools?
I am a Primary Six student and I think we should resume classes by next week.
During this long period of closure, the students must have started taking precautions such as washing their hands and frequently wearing masks. When they return to school they will be more aware of their personal hygiene.
The schools also have taken precautionary measures. Assemblies and concerts have been cancelled. The facilities are being sterilised every so often. If students think it is a waste of time to wait for 30 minutes outside school to have their temperatures taken, then they should remember to take their own temperatures before going to school, record it and have their guardians to sign it.
The schools have tried their best to follow Department of Health advice. Students shouldn't complain to them about wasting their time every morning.
If the schools will only reopen when a cure for Sars is found, which might take a year, the students will miss a lot of education even if the schools do send some homework on the Internet.
