THE price of the Veridata XtraPro 486S/25 Notebook computer has been reduced to attract student buyers. The machine costs less than $10,000, down from $13,000. Onflo Computer Co Ltd said it hoped Hong Kong students studying abroad would snap up the notebooks while home on holidays before returning overseas. The XtraPro 486S/25 incorporates a 486SLC 32-bit CPU and an 87SL co-processor, which enhances the processing speed and maths performance. It has a standard four-megabyte (MB) random access memory (RAM), an 80-MB hard disk drive, and a 3.5-inch, 1.44-MB floppy disk drive.
