Standard Chartered Bank is offering mortgage repayment insurance protection for MortgageOne customers. MortgageOne is an all-in-one savings, current and mortgage repayment account that enables customers to speed up mortgage repayments at lower interest rates. The new insurance feature means customers' repayments will be covered when they become involuntarily unemployed or are unable to work due to illness or injury for more than one month. For unemployment, the maximum repayment period is three months per claim up to a combined HK$100,000. In the case of illness or injury, the repayment period is six months per policy. Hang Seng Bank is offering two capital guaranteed funds for investors to benefit from the growth of the US stock market and the appreciation of the euro against the US dollar. The Capital Guaranteed Equity FX-Multiplier funds come with either a 105 per cent or a 100 per cent guarantee over a 4 ?-year investment period. Upside is anticipated through investment in the S&P 500 Index and the euro/US dollar exchange rate. Investors choosing the 105 per cent guarantee will receive eight cash dividends during the life of the fund. Those opting for the 100 per cent guarantee will receive no dividends but have more exposure to equities, potentially increasing returns.
