Wu now on the mend

Starlet Anya Wu is expecting to make a full recovery from a third operation to remove glass fragments lodged in her throat after a car crash in January.

The battling actress (below) was hurt in Taiwan when the taxi she was in crashed on a motorway. Since then, and despite having about 48 stitches in her face and glass stuck in her inner ear and throat, the 26-year-old actress has soldiered on with a number of roles, including her sell-out Hong Kong theatre appearance in Glengarry Glen Ross.

The usually garrulous New York-raised actress has been advised by doctors not to speak for the next 10 days. However, in a text message to the Post she said: 'I am doing fine and look forward to getting back to work soon.' Wu also thanked well-wishers and fans for their support.

A friend at her bedside added that doctors say the brave star will make a total recovery.
