LIFE PAINTINGS by painter Chiang Haufun will be on display at City University campus from today until Sunday.

The exhibition, entitled 'Paintings by Chiang Hau Fun', is being run by the university's cultural and sports committee, and features some 40 works that combine local landscapes and human bodies with Chiang's own feelings towards these objects.

Having spent more than 30 years studying traditional painting and calligraphy, Chiang's artworks reflect a high degree of individualism, rather than the reality of the sceneries that he depicts.

Chiang's paintings are mainly influenced by his experience in both Shanghai, where he was a student of traditional and contemporary Western painting, and Hong Kong, where he was further inspired by its unique mix of Eastern and Western culture.

'Paintings by Chiang Hau Fun': May 21-25, 10am-7pm, Multi-purpose room C, 4/F, Amenities Building, City University. Admission is free.
