A new campaign has been launched by the Chinese University of Hong Kong to educate teachers, students and parents on the prevention of Sars. More than 1,700 people in Hong Hong have contracted the virus.

Advice includes not to taste food that you have prepared during home economics lessons.

At the centre of the campaign is also a video programme consisting of expert opinions from the university's school of public health, Nethersole School of Nursing and frontline medical staff who have extensive first-hand experience in dealing with the disease.

The campaign, which can be downloaded from the Hong Kong Education City Web site, focuses mainly on three areas of the battle against the deadly virus. 'In search of the viral culprit' explores the sources of the virus; 'Healthy campus' attempts to set up a guide on how to prevent the spread of Sars in schools; and 'Together we will beat Sars' carries interviews with frontline medical workers.

But some of the guidelines could raise questions among both teachers and students.
