The Hong Kong Water Supplies Department is gearing up to replace its 23-year-old billing system with customer management software from SPL WorldGroup.
The New Jersey-based billing specialist announced last week that the revamp would allow the department to improve operational efficiency and service to its 2.49 million customers in Hong Kong.
Local systems integrator Computer and Technologies International has been awarded the contract to manage and implement the project, with SPL as a key partner. Completion of phase one is expected in December and full implementation is targeted for September next year.
SPL's CorDaptix system will replace a billing set-up that no longer provides the levels of efficiency and service needed for the department's customers.
'The decision of the Hong Kong Water Supplies Department to implement CorDaptix is a significant milestone for SPL,' SPL chairman Trevor Winer said.
'Over the past 12 to 18 months, we have conducted research into the Asian utilities market and organisations.
