George Lam recovering after stage fall

Veteran actor and singer George Lam Chi-cheung is recovering from head injuries he suffered after falling down a hole on stage during a live performance on Friday night.

The 55-year-old Canto-pop singer was in the intensive care ward at St Teresa Hospital, where his condition was listed as stable.

Veteran TV actress-singer Lisa Wang Ming-chuen, who had been appearing with Lam at the Hong Kong Coliseum, visited him yesterday. She said his condition had now improved and his life was not in danger.

Lam fell down a 2.5-metre hole that appeared after a movable platform was lowered.

Wang, unaware of the accident, had to be interrupted by Alan Tam Wing-lun, another guest singer, who told the audience that Lam was all right.
