LRT issues special pass
TO provide extra convenience for students in Tuen Mun, Yuen Long and Tin Shui Wai, a special September Student Pass for unlimited travel on the Light Rail Transit System has been introduced for back-to-school students.
A spokesman for the Light Rail Division of the Kowloon-Canton Railway Corporation said the special pass would be sold from today until September 15 at a special discounted price of $135 (Three-Zone Pass) and $195 (All-Zone Pass).
The special passes are introduced to cater for the needs of students who have not purchased the July to September Student Season Pass.
Students with the LRT Student Travel Card can buy the September Pass at all of the seven Customer Services Centres at the following LRT stops: Ferry Pier Terminus, Leung King, Siu Hong, Town Centre, Tai Hing (South) as well as Sam Shing and Yuen Long Terminus.
The spokesman reminded students to put their names and Student Travel Card number on the ticket.
Meanwhile, the LRT is carrying out a campaign to educate monthly pass holders on using their passes appropriately.
The holders are reminded to write their names and identity card numbers on the monthly pass, and not to transfer their passes to others for travelling.
Failure to do so will render their cards invalid. During ticket inspection, LRT staff may also ask passengers to produce proof of their identity.
