Congratulations to Mandy Chan of Carmel Secondary School who has won our Who's That Girl + Boy character naming competition with her entries: Suki and Denny. The 15-year-old will receive book vouchers worth $1,000 courtesy of Dymocks Booksellers.
'[Suki] means clever, bold, beautiful, nice and adult,' Mandy explained her name choice for the girl. 'The character's looks are very hip as she wears nice clothes. She wears a shirt and a pair of jeans, which suggests she is bold. Her nice haircut makes her look beautiful.
'The boy is a hipster, too. Denny means handsome, cool, cute, someone who likes to play tricks and has an interest in music. He looks kind of sad, which makes him very cool. I think he is very cute because he has a cat key ring on his bag.'
The two characters were created to celebrate Young Post's new look and the fact that it is now available at all Daily Stop outlets. We have received literally hundreds of suggested names from 112 entries.
