City University (CityU) has raised $280,000 for the 'We Care Education Fund'.

CityU president Chang Hsin-kang (pictured, left) said: 'We are showing our spirit of solidarity, compassion and, above all, care for our community, especially for children whose parents had passed away because of [Sars].'

The charity fund was launched by four senior government officials, including Permanent Secretary for Education and Manpower Fanny Law Fan Chiu-fan (right), with the aim of helping children who lost their parents to Sars.
