Heaven On Earth:

A rather chic Taiwanese bar/restaurant, although the outdoor seating aspect is mitigated by a giant projector screen.

Mama's kitchen it may be, but the hearty Italian fare served up here can be enjoyed outside too.

Giardino

The cosy and very friendly Ristorante Italiano and Bar changed its menu this week to include Thai specialties too - at ridiculously affordable prices. It is one of the few places outside Knutsford Terrace to have alfesco seating in the area

Recommended: The crispy base pizzas from $42 are excellent value; baked barramundi with black olive pasta and pinenuts ($118) is delicious as is the eggplant parmigiana ($25)

The Sun Terrace

One of Hong Kong's most amazing locations at one of its most famous icons. This is alfresco fine dining offering great value from a five-star establishment.

Chilli n Spice Seafood Market

This chain of Thai and Southeast Asian restaurants is normally quite good but its Gold Coast outlet is jaw-dropping. One look at the fresh seafood display, the setting and the exceptionally good prices, and it wins fans
