SEVEN members of a forged credit card syndicate were given sentences ranging from 18 months to six years in the District Court yesterday for obtaining cash and goods as part of an international operation.

So Chung-kwong, 27, was sentenced to a total of six years; Shum Lok-wing, 28, four years and six months; Dirceau de Sousa Faria Fong, alias Lee Chi-yuen, 39, four years and nine months; Ko Kwok-leung, 27, and Kwok Man-hung, 28, both two years and three months.

They each denied from two to six counts of eight credit-card related offences, including conspiracy to obtain property with forged credit card sales slips, conspiracy to defraud, and possessing implements for forgery.

The defendants were each found guilty of between one and three charges.

They were also found not guilty of some of the charges.

Chan Tsz-sum, 28, pleaded guilty to obtaining property with a forged credit card sales slip, possessing a forged identity card, and conspiracy to defraud.
