Two face drug charges following $1.5m seizure
AN electrician and a mechanic appeared in Eastern Court yesterday on charges involving $1.5 million in drugs.
Electrician Chung Ka-leung, 20, and Jassi Lee Kwok-ho, 25, are jointly charged with the unlawful manufacture of a dangerous drug in Nam Fung Sun Chuen, Quarry Bay.
Customs and Excise Department officers seized heroin valued at $1.5 million from the premises.
Chung is also charged with two counts of trafficking in 3.45 kilograms of salts of esters of morphine.
He is further charged with obstructing two customs and excise officers.
No plea was taken and the case was adjourned until September 15, pending a Government Chemist's certificate and legal advice.
Mr Hill granted Lee bail of $100,000 cash and ordered Chung to be remanded in jail custody.
