Updated at 4.24pm: Thai police have found discrepancies in information given to them by a Hong Kong journalist who said she was gang-raped in Bangkok last Tuesday, Singtao Daily reported on Monday.

The reporter told police she had been abducted by a tuk-tuk driver and later raped by him and three other men near the Thai parliament house.

She said she was warned not to inform police and then three of her attackers had taken her back to her hotel, Arnoma, where she was thrown out of the tuk-tuk.

The newspaper reported that police had the hotel's surveillance video showing the woman walking away from the tuk-tuk after paying the driver. Police also said there was only one man present.

However, police said the quality of the video tape was poor and they could not recognise the driver or see the vehicle's number plate.
