Police yesterday checked closed-circuit video footage from the Friends' House apartment block in Tsim Sha Tsui, where a 57-year-old South Korean was found murdered. Officers believe the victim's wallet was stolen, but it was not known what else was missing from his Carnarvon Road apartment. A spokesman said the victim had no close relatives in Hong Kong and police would have to seek help from Interpol in South Korea to locate his next of kin. The victim was found with head injuries and his hands tied behind his back beside a bloodstained hammer inside one of the bedrooms in the eighth-floor unit on Tuesday, after neighbours complained of a foul smell. Police said he had been dead for about a week. A South Korean passport was found in his pocket. The case was one of three murders discovered in Hong Kong on Tuesday and came a day after businessman Man Kam-po was shot dead in Lok Ma Chau. The naked body of a woman was found buried on a hillside in Sheung Kok Shan Tsuen, Tsuen Wan, on Tuesday. Her flatmate, 44, was charged with murder yesterday. He will appear in Tsuen Wan Court today. Yesterday, officers continued their investigation into another murder case, in which the badly decomposed body of a man with electrical wire tied around his neck, hands and feet was discovered on a hillside in Lau Fau Shan on Tuesday. According to the identity card found on his body he was of Indian nationality. Another police spokesman said the business disputes of Man Kam-po would be a key area of their investigation into that case. The businessman was killed when he returned to the car park he owned to collect the overnight takings. It is understood this was part of his daily routine. According to sources, Man normally stayed in the car park for about 15 minutes. The spokesman said once the results of the ballistics test were available, police would seek help from the Guangdong Public Security Bureau to check whether the pistol used in the murder had also been used on the mainland. Police said the weapon was a 7.62mm pistol. No one has been arrested in connection with any of the other three murders.
