A bilingual website dedicated to Sars heroine Joanna Tse Yuen-man has been launched to spread the message of her selflessness around the globe.
Tse, the first public hospital doctor to die from the disease, had volunteered to work in a Sars ward in Tuen Mun Hospital. She is believed to have become infected while trying to resuscitate a Sars patient, and died on May 13.
Her family's spokeswoman, Jennifer Tse Hsioa-ching, said: 'This is not just a Sars story. We want people to move forward and turn mourning into hope.
'We wish to use the story of an ordinary Hong Kong person to inspire and encourage people from the world, whether their countries have Sars or economic or social problems.'
The website, set up by the Christian group Praise Assembly and a group of Chinese and overseas volunteers, shares Tse's personal story and allows the public to express their feelings in an online forum.
The English version was launched last Saturday and the original Chinese site went online a week after Tse's death. The Chinese site has received more than one million hits.
