My Beautiful Hong Kong

Marques de Jadraque, commissioned in 1982 to paint Pope John Paul II, has cast his gaze over Hong Kong. His cityscapes are a welcome reminder that this is one of the most visually striking places in the world. Red Babies

Thaiwijit Poengkasemsomboon - Alchemy

China Around The May Fourth Movement

The result of numerous trips to China between 1908 and 1932 by American social scientist Sidney D Gamble (1890-1968), who pioneered the use of photography as part of a social study. The 200 images on show capture the lifestyles of ordinary Chinese as well as significant moments such as the May Fourth Movement. Organisation For Cultural Exchange And Mishap

A collaboration between West Space in Melbourne and Para/Site Art Space in Hong Kong. Summer Piano Fiesta II - Jon Kimura Parker

Winner of the 1984 Leeds International Piano Competition, Parker has played Beethoven in war-torn Sarajevo, a benefit concert televised live in 59 countries, as well as in the Arctic. The Telephone And Le Villi

The Psychic Labyrinth Of Murnau

FW Murnau (1888-1931) is regarded as the master of light and shadow in film. Of the 21 films he made, 12 have survived. The Hong Kong Film Archive present this full retrospective on the highly influential German master of expressionist filmmaking.
