SEARCH FOR COUPLE WHO RENTED SAMPAN An air and sea search was under way last night for a couple who went missing after renting a sampan at Hoi Ha Wan, near Sai Kung. The man and woman, both aged about 20, rented the sampan powered by an outboard engine at noon. They returned to the pier at 2pm for refreshments and more fuel, but failed to return to the pier at 6pm. The owner and his friends searched before informing police at 7.45pm. The couple was still missing at 1am. THREE WALKERS BASHED Three morning walkers - two men and a woman - were robbed of their money, mobile phones and jewellery when they were bashed by a gang of five men outside Pok Hong Estate in Tim Sum, near Sha Tin, about 5am yesterday. Two of the walkers suffered minor injuries and were treated at Prince of Wales Hospital. They were discharged. PEEPING TOM ACCUSED A suspected peeping tom was arrested by police for allegedly using a small mirror to look under the skirt of a 16-year-old girl inside a library in Shek Yam Road in Lei Muk Shue. The girl noticed the man, 43, placing a small mirror on the floor to reflect under her skirt and reported him to police. When police arrested the man soon after, they took a small mirror from him. He was being held last night for further questions. WOMAN'S BODY FOUND The body of a woman was found floating in the sea off Tierra Verde on Tsing Yi Island. Police later identified her as the 42-year-old woman who had jumped into the sea and disappeared last Saturday.
