YOU NOW HAVE the chance to be a circus performer and fly through the air on a trapeze this summer.
Citygate has teamed up with an Australian circus school - Trix Circus, Arts & Acrobatics - to present acrobatics courses for youngsters aged six to 16 this August.
'We want to give Hong Kong children an opportunity to try some circus skills,' Rodleigh Stevens, the master trainer of Citygate's Summer Circus School said.
The school will offer two types of training - aerial acrobatics and ground acrobatics. The aerial discipline features basic skills on aerial trapeze bar, contortion, aerial straps and LYRA.
There is an alternative for those who prefer to keep their feet firmly on the ground as they can learn skills such as juggling, trampoline, tumbling and rope walking.
Instead of training students in only one or two circus skills, the courses will cover a wide range. Students will be in a class of 10 to 12 companied by two coaches, two helpers and a translator.
Students will also be spotlighted to give a 45-minute graduation show to demonstrate their achievements in front of their parents, friends and the public on finishing the course.
