John McCulloch

In Mr McCulloch's new role, he will continue to work from Vancouver, base of the oneworld management company. He served for 15 years with Cathay Pacific in Hong Kong, Australia, the Philippines, Indonesia, Japan and Canada, covering roles in marketing, sales, country management, distribution yield management, operations and technology. He then joined banking multinational HSBC, becoming head of group marketing based at its London headquarters, responsible for implementing its global rebranding in the late 1990s.

Brian Harrison

Based in Hong Kong, Mr Harrison will also head the local office. He has been a partner of the international firm since 1987. He leaves London, having established the Allen & Overy office in Canary Wharf. He will continue as a fee-earner and balance his management responsibilities with projects and restructuring work.

Robert Chiang

China Hotel sales director

Mr Chiang has been the director of sales in various well-known hotels and companies for more than 10 years. Meanwhile, Martin Wong has been appointed assistant director of food and beverage at China Hotel. Mr Wong has worked for various famous hotels in China since 1986. He will contribute to expanding the food and beverage market at the hotel and enhancing its food and beverage management.

Jacky Lam

Mr Lam will be responsible for managing a team of specialist consultants in Hong Kong on rail risk and system assurance. He has extensive practical project experience gained while working on various railway projects in Hong Kong and Singapore over the past six years as in-house consultant or team leader in respect of  system assurance.

Mick Jones

Head of risk management, Hong Kong and Macau

Swiss Re

Mr Jones joined the firm last year. He will lead a team of life underwriters and claims managers. Previously he spent 24 years at AXA Australia, where he was chief underwriter. He has been national secretary of the Australian Life Underwriters and Claims Association. Ann Law has been appointed head of risk management for Swiss Re's China Life and Health operations

Jose Linares has been appointed head of equity research for Asia ex-Japan at JP Morgan. Mr Linares has spent the past 18 months as head of Latin American equity research and led the team to their No1 ranking in the 2002 Institutional Investor poll. In addition to running the Latin American team, he was also JP Morgan's telecommunications analyst in the region and has been regularly ranked No1 in the Institutional Investor poll in that category. Mr Linares replaces Peter Redhead, who will be relocating to London to become head of European equity research. Mr Linares will take up his position, based in Hong Kong, later this month. He started his career covering emerging markets at Morgan Stanley in 1993.

Andrew Leung Chi-kwan

Mr Leung joined the group in 1977 and has worked in the aviation, insurance and beverages divisions. He was appointed managing director of Taikoo Royal Insurance in 1994 and was most recently executive director of Swire Beverages.

Carlos Oyarbide

Managing director, head of financial institutions group for Asia-Pacific ex-Japan

Mr Oyarbide will oversee the investment banking team covering banks, insurance companies and other financial institutions groups (FIGs) in the region excluding Japan. He will report regionally to Eric Varvel, head of investment banking for  Asia ex-Japan and Australia, and globally to Richard Barrett, head of FIG banking.  He joins CSFB from Morgan Stanley, where he was a managing director for corporate finance execution.

Johnny Wong

Mr Wong will be responsible for further developing third-party distribution channels for Janus' family of 15 funds authorised for distribution in Asia-Pacific and expanding the company's presence in the region. He comes to Janus with more than 11 years of regional experience in the fund industry, including four years with Franklin Templeton and, most recently, with HSBC Asset Management.

Yanli Liu

Ms Liu was previously  group leader of the semiconductor practice at H-Line Ogilvy Communications. From 1995 to 2000, she worked at EDN China, a leading electronics-industry publication. Ms Liu holds a Bachelor's degree in industry. She started her career as an electronic technician  at the Shougang No2 General Machinery Plant in Beijing.
