The mainland's China International TV Corp (CITVC) is hoping higher revenue from television content production and programme distribution can help double its profit to 500 million yuan (HK$468.6 million) in two years.
The company's current revenue comes mainly from selling advertising slots for CCTV (China Central TV) channels 5, 8 and 12.
'We hope programming and content sales can contribute higher revenue next year,' vice-president Zhao Jian said. The company is also responsible for producing all the content for CCTV-12.
'We want to sell more content to CCTV and take charge of both content and advertising sales at more channels.'
CITVC previously denied reports it planned to buy a stake in Hong Kong broadcaster Asia Television. However, Mr Zhao said the company was planning to invest in mainland broadcasters.
