Hongkong Post expands its one-stop shopping list

Fancy some organic avocado oil or medicated honey? Then visit a post office.

Fresh from its success in selling a range of Australian wine last December, Hongkong Post yesterday launched a service offering more natural Australian products.

Orders can be placed at counters in post offices, through the Hongkong Post website, by fax or mail order.

'The wine fulfilment service was well received by the public,' said Roy Siu Kwong-fai, spokesman for Hongkong Post.

'We chose to extend our international fulfilment service to these products because they are unique, high-quality products unavailable in Hong Kong. We want to offer our consumers more choices.'

The orders will be delivered to customers' doorstep by Speedpost in two to five working days.

If all goes well, consumers can expect more quality products from around the world in future. 'We are in talks with Canada about adding it to our producers as it is also famous for health and natural products,' Mr Siu said.

'We will be extending our international fulfilment service worldwide if there is market potential, but first we still need to study what kind of products will be well received by the Hong Kong market,' he added.

'It has very good business potential because it is a one-stop shop service where the only thing the customer has to do is order the product and we do everything else. The prices include all custom duties [for wine], and delivery charges.'
