Samsung is the new name to watch in notebook computers. We were really impressed by its first Centrino-based laptop, the super thin Samsung X10. The company's latest offering, the Samsung Q20, promises to be just as impressive. Also Centrino-based, the Q20 is even lighter than the 1.7 kg X10 - just 19.3mm thick it weighs 1.3kg. The heart of the Q20 is an Intel Pentium M 1.2 gigahertz chip and the machine comes with 256 megabytes of DDR Ram and 60GB of hard disk.

More compact in design than the X10, the Q20 features a 12.1-inch TFT LCD screen compared to the 14.1-inch on the X10. The notebook is embedded with Intel's Montara-GM integrated graphics graphic chipset with 64MB of video memory. A variety of connections including FireWire, a slot for SD card, one USB port and one infrared port. Unlike the X10, which had a Memory Stick slot, the X20 has a slot for SD/MMC cards. An external DVD combo drive is also bundled.
