Spike Lee to marry lawyer in October

RUMOURS that film-maker Spike Lee and his longtime girlfriend, lawyer Tonya Linette Lewis, are to wed are true.

The wedding date has been set for October 2 at New York's Riverside Church. Lee, 36, has been saying for quite a while that the time was coming when films would become secondary in his life so that he could marry and start a family.

For a while it looked as though he would marry Revlon model Veronica Webb, who portrayed his wife in Jungle Fever.

But that cooled and he took up with 32-year-old Lewis about 18 months ago.
