Crown Wine Cellars, the storage facilities and club for wine lovers in Shouson Hill has met unexpected delays and now plans to open its underground clubhouse and above-ground conservatory dining area in October. When the InterContinental Hong Kong was trying to decide what should replace the hotel's fine dining restaurant, Plume, a branch of Nobuyuki Matsuhisa's namesake Nobu was one of the hot contenders. The chef reportedly decided against it and a branch of Alain Ducasse's Spoon is opening instead. Now it looks like the Nobu scheduled to open at Three on the Bund in Shanghai won't go ahead. Handel Lee, founder of House of Three, the privately owned parent company of Three on the Bund, says: 'Our timing to open Three on the Bund and Nobu's plans to open in China do not coincide, but we are keeping our options open with Nobu for other projects.' Chef Rajiv Singh Gulshan is holding another of his popular cooking classes at Veda in Arbuthnot Road. The dishes for tomorrow's class include snake gourd and corn salad, Bengali fish curry and eggplant cooked in sesame and tamarind sauce. The class will be followed by a buffet lunch.
