Utterly harmless

RECENTLY, I have read many articles about the new Down syndrome centre in the Tung Tau Estate.

I think the people who damaged the centre by breaking windows and who put posters on the walls, are very selfish and ignorant. This showed the ugly face of Hong Kong.

These mentally handicapped children are very unfortunate.

They had not done anything wrong in the world; they are just unfortunate to have been born with Down syndrome.

They are people with the same rights as other people. They have the right to equal treatment.

Down syndrome children will not attack anyone on the estate. They are utterly harmless.

So why are the residents of the Tung Tau Estate against them? Do they not appreciate that these children should be entitled to live in the community? They should not be discriminated against.
