FLOATING GALLERY
Feed your eyes with artistic fun on Gallery Ferry when you travel to Cheung Chau this summer.
Gallery Ferry is in fact a fleet of three triple-deck ferries running between Cheung Chau and Central. Until August 11, they are showcasing three installation works from an earlier competition with the theme of Dynamic City on their VIP lounges.
The project aims to bring art out of museums and galleries into the community. Meanwhile, 20 groups of two-dimensional artwork selected from the same competition are also on display at Central Pier 5 until January 11, 2004.
The project's partners, including the Leisure and Cultural Services Department Art Promotion Office, Hong Kong Arts Development Council, New World First Ferry Services and New World First Bus Services, hope that the ferries help to promote art appreciation among the general public, and enhance the ambience of Victoria Harbour.
