This summer campaign for the chain, for which actress Maggie Cheung Man-yuk is an image consultant and designer, has angered the Israeli and German consuls and the public - with the stores being seen as a salute to Nazi Germany.
Israeli Consul-General Eli Avidar said the consulate had received dozens of complaints about the displays in the past two days. 'Most of the comments made called for decisive action. People were furious, hurt and shocked that such a thing could happen,' he said. 'It is unbearable to think that anyone can design a marketing campaign that desecrates the deaths of millions of people.'
Mr Avidar said the consulate would take further action. 'We will not sit by and let this happen.'
At the chain's Times Square branch, a salesman said: 'We always have a military theme. We had American military uniforms last summer and we have the German one this summer.
